The court remanded both suspects into custody.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the regional capital <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zakvisnyk.com.ua\/en\/zakarpattia-news\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.zakvisnyk.com.ua\/news-of-transcarpathia\/\">of Zakarpattia<\/a>, police shut down a criminal duo that specialized in the wholesale supply and sale of psychotropic substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zakarpattia Oblast, the organizers of the drug ring were two residents of the region who had a clearly defined division of responsibilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A 53-year-old Uzhhorod resident<\/strong> organized a steady supply chain for the prohibited substances;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>a 46-year-old resident of the Uzhhorod district<\/strong> was responsible for the direct retail sale of psychotropic substances to customers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Documentation of Sales and Search Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Criminal investigators documented the fact of the \u201cmerchandise\u201d being sold directly from hand to hand. An official expert report confirmed that the substance being sold was crystalline methamphetamine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on court orders, law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches of the suspects\u2019 residences and vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the physical evidence seized were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>methamphetamine and cannabis prepared for sale;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a batch of tablets with markings similar to those of the narcotic \u201cecstasy\u201d (MDMA);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>electronic scales, zip-top bags, and packaging materials;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>approximately 1,<strong>000 rounds of ammunition<\/strong> of various calibers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All hazardous substances and ammunition were sent to the Ministry of Internal Affairs\u2019 Scientific Research and Forensic Center for ballistic and chemical analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Detention and Charges<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both accomplices were detained in accordance with <strong>Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong> and placed in a temporary detention facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investigators informed the men that they are suspected of violating <strong>Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or shipment for the purpose of sale, as well as the illegal sale of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, committed by a group of persons acting in concert).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Uzhhorod City and District Court granted the prosecutor\u2019s office\u2019s motion and imposed a preventive measure on the suspects\u2014<strong>detention with the right to post bail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the 46-year-old participant in the drug ring is also charged with organizing or maintaining premises for the illegal use or manufacture of drugs under <strong>Parts 1 and 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> (drug den). A criminal case has also been opened under <strong>Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> due to the discovery of a cache containing 1,000 rounds of ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on the totality of the crimes committed, the suspects face a lengthy prison sentence with confiscation of their property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
