Tomorrow, November 8, his fellow townspeople will escort him on his final journey through a living corridor of honor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Irshava City Territorial Community is experiencing the bitter pain of an irreparable loss. A brave defender of Ukraine\u2014a native and resident of the village of Chornyi Potik, Junior Sergeant Ivan Ivanovich Brovdiy\u2014is returning \u201con his shield\u201d to his native Transcarpathia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Irshava City Council officially announced the soldier\u2019s death and the details of the funeral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The defender\u2019s combat career: on the front lines since the first year of the full-scale invasion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ivan Brovdiy was born on April 13, 1973. With the start of full-scale Russian aggression in 2022, he joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces without hesitation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Military rank:<\/strong> As a junior sergeant, he served as a senior gunner-operator in the 1st rifle squad of the 3rd rifle platoon of the 8th rifle company of the 3rd Territorial Defense Battalion of one of the military units;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Southern Front:<\/strong> The soldier carried out complex combat missions on the front lines in the Kherson sector for an extended period, holding back enemy forces until his last breath;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Killed in action:<\/strong> While on duty and carrying out a combat order, the defender\u2019s life was cut short as a result of combat operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Date and details of the funeral service in Chornyi Potok<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The farewell to the Hero and the funeral service will take place on Sunday, <strong>November<\/strong> 8<strong>, 2026<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>12:30 p.m.<\/strong> \u2014 A funeral procession carrying the fallen soldier\u2019s body will depart from the Irshava City Medical Examiner\u2019s Office and head toward his native village of Chornyi Potik;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Honor guard:<\/strong> Residents of Irshava, neighboring towns, and the village of Chornyi Potik are urged to line the route of the procession and form a human honor guard, bowing their heads in tribute to the soldier\u2019s heroism;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2:00 p.m.<\/strong> \u2014 The funeral service and requiem will begin in the courtyard of the defender\u2019s family home at <strong>27 Poshtova Street, Chornyi Potik<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Burial:<\/strong> The soldier will be laid to rest with full military honors in the \u201cAlley of Glory\u201d at the local cemetery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We express our deepest and most sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends, comrades-in-arms, and all fellow villagers of Ivan Brovdiy. His self-sacrifice and contribution to the defense of Ukraine\u2019s freedom are forever etched in the hearts of his fellow villagers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May the memory of the Hero of Ukraine live on, and may he be eternally honored!
