In the city of Mukachevo, medical personnel and police officers responded to a serious traffic accident in which the driver of a two-wheeled vehicle sustained significant injuries.
This was reported by the “Transcarpathian Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.”
According to preliminary data, the accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger car occurred on one of the city’s streets. As a result of the severe impact, the 39-year-old motorcyclist sustained multiple injuries.
Emergency medical team No. 706, led by Dr. T. V. Todosienko, promptly arrived at the scene in response to the call. During the initial examination, medical personnel diagnosed the victim with a closed head injury, a fractured nose, a contusion on the chin, and fractured ribs. The patient’s condition was significantly complicated by the onset of traumatic shock—a life-threatening pathological process that arises as the body’s reaction to severe trauma and acute pain and poses a risk of vital organ failure.
The ambulance crew performed emergency resuscitation and anti-shock measures directly at the scene of the accident: they administered pain relief to the victim, immobilized the injured areas, and stabilized his vital signs to enable transport. The man was promptly transported on a special stretcher to the emergency department of the Mukachevo District Hospital, where he was handed over to specialists for further comprehensive examination, surgical intervention, and intensive care.
Police officers were also on the scene of the accident, ensuring traffic safety in the area and determining all the details, the order of traffic flow, and the causes of the collision.
Medical professionals and law enforcement officials are once again urging motorcycle riders to strictly observe speed limits, maintain a safe following distance, and, undercircumstances to wear certified protective helmets and special gear, which can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in the event of a traffic accident.
At the same time, car drivers are asked to be as attentive as possible when maneuvering, turning, and exiting secondary roads, since motorcycles, due to their size, often go unnoticed in “blind spots.”
The editorial staff of “Zakarpattia Visnyk” wishes the injured Mukachevo resident a swift recovery from his critical condition and a full return to health. We urge all road users to show mutual respect and exercise the utmost caution on the region’s roads!
