An elderly city resident was diagnosed with a closed head injury, a broken leg, and chest injuries. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the traffic accident.
A traffic accident involving a pedestrian occurred in the city of Tyachiv. A 66-year-old local woman was struck by a passenger car and suffered serious multiple injuries.
The incident was reported to the Transcarpathian Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.
Emergency care and hospitalization of the victim
Emergency medical team No. 1400, led by paramedic A. V. Ostolosha, arrived at the scene of the accident immediately.
As a result of the severe impact, the woman sustained multiple bodily injuries. A preliminary medical examination revealed:
- a closed head injury (CHI);
- a closed chest injury;
- a fracture of the right ankle joint.
Medical personnel administered pain relief to the victim, applied immobilization splints, and, to protect her spine, secured the pensioner on a special rigid transport board. An ambulance transported the woman to the emergency department of the Tyachiv District Hospital for further diagnosis and surgical treatment.
Police officers are investigating the causes of the accident, checking whether the driver was speeding, and assessing the condition of the road surface at the scene of the accident.
