On September 24, the Uzhhorod City Council held its regular session. Council members considered about four dozen issues related to the municipal budget, social protection, support for the military, healthcare, and the city’s development.

Uzhhorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv outlined the main decisions following the meeting.

What the session’s decisions entailed

Among the key financial decisions:

• 1.9 million UAH — one-time financial assistance to 21 family members of fallen Defenders of Ukraine. Two additional individuals with exceptional service to the Motherland were provided with assistance to address social and living conditions.

• 5 million UAH — to fund measures under the program to support military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations for 2026–2027.

• 717,000 UAH — financial assistance to 83 residents of Uzhhorod for medical treatment and rehabilitation.

• Changes were made to social support programs for military personnel, war veterans, and the families of fallen and missing-in-action defenders.

• Programs providing medications and special dietary products to Uzhhorod residents and internally displaced persons (IDPs) registered in the city who have rare diseases have been updated.

• Financial support was allocated for municipal primary and secondary healthcare facilities, as well as for urban improvement projects, the development of public infrastructure, and major repairs to the housing stock.

Separately, the deputies adopted a resolution on additional payments to employees in the education and culture sectors, specifically to staff at schools, cultural institutions, and other publicly funded organizations.

The session also considered amendments to the city budget and the budget forecast for the Uzhhorod City Territorial Community for 2027–2029.

Other issues included funding for major repairs and municipal facilities, the situation in the field of urban transportation, as well as land management, privatization, and the leasing of land plots.

The deputies supported some of the proposals; certain issues require further refinement and may be returned to the city council for consideration during future sessions.
