During a regular session of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, deputies supported significant changes to the regional budget, allocated additional funds for defense, and adopted a resolution to increase transparency in educational and medical institutions.
Roman Saray, chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, commented on the session’s results and key decisions.
Extensive Support for the Armed Forces
One of the most important sets of decisions adopted concerns financial assistance for Ukraine’s defenders.
“During the intersessional period, together with the communities of Zakarpattia, we allocated 688 million hryvnias for war-related needs,” Roman Saray emphasized.
These funds will be used to carry out priority defense tasks and support military units.
Budget and Regional Program Adjustments
In addition to the military-financial sector, regional lawmakers reviewed and adjusted the region’s main budget. The changes affected a number of regional targeted programs, which will allow for a more efficient allocation of community resources to meet the region’s current needs.
Formation of supervisory boards in educational and medical institutions
An important step toward increasing transparency and management efficiency was the decision to establish supervisory bodies.
Specifically, supervisory boards will be established at:
- at vocational and technical schools;
- at regional colleges;
- at one of Transcarpathia’s leading medical institutions.
This decision will help ensure better oversight of the institutions’ activities, their development, and the mobilization of additional resources.
