Certain categories of citizens must verify their identity by the end of 2026 to ensure that their pension and insurance benefit payments are not suspended. The Pension Fund has identified the required categories and the available verification methods.
The Main Office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Zakarpattia Oblast has reminded citizens of the need to complete the mandatory in-person identification procedure well in advance. Verification is a mandatory requirement for ensuring the uninterrupted payment of pension and insurance benefits to certain recipients.
The deadline for completing the procedure for categories specified by law is December 31, 2026.
Who Is Required to Undergo Identification
Two key categories of pension and insurance benefit recipients must verify their identity by the end of the year:
- Ukrainian citizens who are currently residing abroad on a temporary basis;
- beneficiaries of payments who are registered and reside in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT).
If recipients in these categories do not verify their information by the specified deadline, the disbursement of funds may be temporarily suspended until verification is completed.
4 Convenient Ways to Verify Your Identity
The Pension Fund has provided several verification options—both in person and entirely online:
- In-person visit to Ukraine. You can verify your identity at any nearby service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (there is no requirement to be registered or reside in the area) or at a branch of the bank through which the payment is made.
- Online using “Diya.Sign.” The fastest way for those who have an ID card or a biometric international passport is to log in to their personal account on the PFU’s e-services portal using the “Diya.Signature” service.
- Via video conference. Remote interviews via video conference are available after making an appointment through the PFU web portal or by calling the contact center at the following numbers:
- 0 800 503 753 (toll-free in Ukraine);
- (044) 281-08-70;
- (044) 281-08-71.
- At a consulate or embassy abroad. You must contact a Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad to obtain a document certifying that the person is alive, and then send the confirmation to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
How to Check the Status of Your Verification
Every pensioner can check the current status of their verification on their own, without leaving home. To do this, simply log in to your personal account on the official website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine and use the “My Identification” service, which displays the date of your most recent identity verification.
