Today, November 6, on the day the Church honors the icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow,” a festive archiepiscopal service was held at the Chervonohirsky Men’s Monastery in Honor of All Saints in Mukachevo.

The prayer service brought together clergy from the diocese, the monastery’s monastic community, parishioners, and numerous pilgrims from various parts of Transcarpathia.

Hierarchical Liturgy and Special Prayer for the Military

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Theodore, Metropolitan of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod, head of the Mukachevo Diocese. His Eminence was concelebrated by the monastery’s abbot, His Grace Ilarion, Bishop of Svalyava, as well as clergy from the city and the region.

During the service, special prayers were offered for the Ukrainian people:

  • for an end to armed aggression and the establishment of a just peace on Ukrainian soil;
  • for the preservation of life, spiritual strength, and health of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are defending the state’s sovereignty;
  • for the repose of the souls of fallen Ukrainian soldiers and innocent civilians who were killed.

Pastoral Address, Greetings, and Charity

After the dismissal of the Liturgy, the clergy performed a festive prayer service before the venerated icon of the Mother of God.
